Abstract: Sri Lanka is a developing country and after the three decades civil war the economy of the country shows a rapid growth level. For the economic development and to expedite the economic development the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is the vital factor. From 2009 the economic development and FDI shows an increasing trend. Therefore, aim of the study is to identify the current scenario of FDI and investment climate in Sri Lanka. The world ranking and regional – South Asia – ranking shows that there is satisfactory level of improvement to get the more FDI inflow in Sri Lanka. Further, the internal climate for getting FDI is also in satisfactory level. Finally, the study identifies that the improving trend of FDI in Sri Lanka.
