Abstract: மனிதர்கள் மாண்போடு வாழ்வதற்கான உரிமை மனித உரிமைகளிலேயே மிகமிக முக்கியமானதும் அடிப்படையானதுமானதாக அமைந்துள்ளது. மனித மாண்பைப் போற்றும் திருவிவிலியம் முழுவதும் பரந்துபட்டு உள்ள சிந்தனைகள் மானுட மாண்பு மற்றும் மானிட உயிர் சார்ந்ததாகும். கிறிஸ்தவ நோக்கில் மனித உயிர் மூச்சானது மாண்புமிக்கதாகத் திகழ்கின்றது. மனித உயிர் கடவுள் வழங்கிய மிகப் பெரிய கொடைகளுள் ஒன்றாகும். மனிதர்களாகிய ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் இவ்வுலகில் உயிர் வாழ்வதற்கான உரிமை உள்ளது. மனித கொலை என்பது ஒரு மனிதனின் உயிரினை இன்னொரு மனிதர் மரணம் அடையச் செய்வதாகும். போருக்குப் பிற்பட்ட காலத்திலிருந்து சமகாலம் வரை மனித கொலையினால் வடக்கு மாகாணத்தில் உயிர் வாழ்வதற்கான உரிமை மறுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இம்மாகாணத்தில் பதின்மூன்று ஆண்டுகளுள் ஏராளமான உயிர்கள் மனித கொலைக்கு உட்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன. கடவுள் மனித உயிரை காவுகொள்ளச் செய்வதற்கான அதிகாரத்தினை மனிதர்களுக்கு வழங்கவில்லை. கிறிஸ்தவமானது மனித உயிரின் மாண்பினை பத்துக்கட்டளைகள் மூலமாக வலியுறுத்துகின்றன. அவற்றுள் கொலை செய்யாதே என்ற ஐந்தாவது கட்டளையின் பின்னணியில் மனித கொலைகளை தடுப்பதற்கு அழைப்புவிடுத்துள்ளது. ஐந்தாவதாக அமையும் இக்கட்டளை ஏனைய மனிதர்களின் உயிரை கொலை மூலம் காவுகொள்வதை முற்றிலும் நிராகரிக்கின்றது. அத்தோடு இக்கட்டளை வாயிலாக மனித உயிரின் மாண்பினை உணரச் செய்யத் தூண்டியுள்ளது. இவ் ஆய்வில் மனித கொலைகள் இடம்பெற்றமைக்கான தரவுகள் மற்றும் கொலைகளில் செல்வாக்குச் செலுத்தியுள்ள காரணிகள் மற்றும் பாலின ரீதியான எண்ணிக்கைகள் கள ஆய்வின் மூலம் சேகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. மனித உயிர் கடவுளுக்குச் சொந்தமானது. மனித உயிர் புனிதமானது, மேன்மையானது மற்றும் விலைமதிப்பற்றது போன்ற சிந்தனையை இவ் ஆய்வானது ஆழப்படுத்தியுள்ளது. மனித கொலைகளைத் தவிர்த்து உயிரைப் பாதுகாப்பது ஒவ்வொருவருடைய கடமையாகத் திகழ்கின்றது. பிறரில் இறைசாயலை உணர்வதன் ஊடாகவே மனித கொலைகள் இடம்பெறுவதைக் குறைக்கலாம். Abstract: The global media landscape is undergoing a period of profound transformation, characterized by rapid technological advancements and pervasive digital interconnectivity. While contemporary mass communication offers unprecedented opportunities for reach and influence, it is increasingly challenged by ethical crises, including the proliferation of misinformation, societal polarization, sensationalism, and a decline in public trust. This paper investigates the intersection of Christian ethics, public theology, and digital media, proposing a framework for morally responsible communication practices informed by the core themes of the Roman Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year 2025. Anchored in the scriptural and theological vision of Jubilee, understood as a time of renewal, reconciliation, and the cultivation of hope, this study applies Christian moral thought to address the pressing ethical dilemmas confronting mass communication today. Employing a multidisciplinary methodology that integrates theological analysis and comparative ethical critique, the research draws upon Church teachings, papal pronouncements, and observed media practices to construct a theologically grounded and practically applicable model of moral media engagement. Particular attention is devoted to the ethical implications of emerging digital trends, such as artificial intelligence, algorithmic influence, deep-fakes, and the evolving dynamics of influencer culture. Through a critical analysis of some Christian media initiatives, this paper examines the extent to which faith-based communication endeavours reflect - or fail to reflect - Christian values of truth, human dignity, and service to marginalized communities. Ultimately, the study advocates for a Jubilee-inspired renewal of media culture, one that prioritizes the restoration of trust, fosters constructive dialogue, and re- envisions communication as a vocation of hope. It concludes by articulating concrete ethical guidelines for communicators and outlining pathways for pastoral, academic, and institutional engagement aimed at fostering a more humane, morally grounded, and socially responsible media environment. Abstract: Public theology, which interprets sacred texts within societal contexts, requires a significant approach to read and apply them in the public sphere. This paper explores the dialectics of public reading of the Bhagavad Gita and the Gospel of John, the foundational texts of Hindu and Christian traditions. The Bhagavad Gita offers guidance on righteous living and spiritual enlightenment through Krishna’s teachings to Arjuna on the battlefield of ‘Kurukshetra’. Addressing paths to liberation, Krishna urges Arjuna to align personal duty with cosmic order, portraying ethical living as an expression of divine will. The Gospel of John emphasizes the divinity of Jesus Christ as the eternal ‘Logos’. Through teachings on faith, love, and obedience to God, Jesus reveals the transcendent reality and invites the followers to fulfil their divine purpose, presenting himself as the path to salvation. This study uses intra and inter-textual analysis, along with a historico-critical approach, to examine thematic coherence within each text and the dialogues between them. Despite differing origins, both texts share themes of duty, divine will, and ethical responsibility. Krishna’s guidance to Arjuna and Jesus’s teachings to Peter and the disciples emphasize aligning human life with divine purpose, offering insights into a universal quest for meaning. The hypothesis emerges that, despite unique theological orientations, the Bhagavad Gita and the Gospel of John promote a shared ethical trajectory supporting communal wellbeing. In Asia’s multi-religious context, this dialogical approach to the sacred texts fosters interfaith cooperation and shared values to provide pathways for mutual understanding and collaborative action to form a just and harmonious society. It will also cultivate a shared moral language to equip public theology to guide communities towards integrity and compassion.
